Tomorrow is the big day!

Tomorrow will be a busy day for the Reidland Guard. They will be marching in the Reidland Day Parade beginning at 9:00. Then they will play the National Anthem at the stage area. Later that day they are off to Madisonville North Hopkins for thier first competition of the season! Hope they place well.

Updates!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget to be at the school tonight at 5:30. The band will do a run through then go to the tailgate party and eat and play some pep songs. Also they will be putting the first song on the field tonight. This is over half of our show. I am so PROUD of the band. They have come a long way since the first of band camp where most didn't know their right foot from their left.

End of band camp

Well the kids did an awesome job at band camp this year. They have two weeks of fundamentals under their belts and are sure to go far this year with their show. We had a terrible stomach bug sweep through during both weeks and took several of our students out (along with this parent) but the kids persevered and the final results will show come September twleve at our first competition.

Since I was out I didn't get as many pics as I would like to have. I will try to get up there this Tuesday evening when they practice and get some more taken and uploaded.

DCI

The Reidland Band Boosters took 38 students to the DCI competition in Murphysboro TN last night. They got to see the following bands perform: Phantom Regiment, Blue Devils, Bluecoats, Holy Name Cadets, Glassmen, Boston Crusaders, Crossmen, The Academy, Mandarins, Pioneer, Cascades, Music City and Music City Legend. The shows were all GREAT! The kids were amazed! The show was won by the Blue Devils.

Band Camp continues on Monday at 8 am. The kids are working super hard this year and we will have a great show! Stay tuned for more updates and pictures!

Day 2

Today starts the second day of band camp. They worked hard yesterday and I am sure they will again today. Try to run by the school early when picking the kids up in the afternoon. They are in the front parking lot marching from about 3:30 - 5:00 every day. Watch the show come together. I will try to get some more pictures posted later in the week.
